Why cricketer Munaf Patel has decided to pick up rifle

New Delhi, May 9: Instead of a cricket ball, this fast bowler is now seen wielding gun in his hand. Once regarded as fatest in India, he is out of favour now. He may not be part of Indian team for the last seven years, but has suddenly become popular in the IPL season. But it's not for his action on field, but because of action on his Instagram account.

Active on social media, Munaf caused a flutter with his latest post. The picture shows rifle-carrying Munaf with six other man. What has caught fancy of the netizens is the caption of the photo-- “are you ready?”.  However, the cricketer did not elaborate, what he meant. But, the caption and photo were enough to send the social media in a tizzy. ”Kahan ja rahe ho?”, commented friend Ishant Sharma, who is currently playing county cricket in England.

Munaf was last seen in action in IPL 2017. He was then part of Gujarat Lions, and played his last match against Hyderabad in 2017. He is not part of the IPL2018.

After a stunning debut with a 7-wicket haul against England in Test, he gradually lost his pace and then place in the Indian team. He had pace and was economical too, and thus represented in all forms of cricket. He was part of the 2011 World Cup winning team. In IPL, he was member of Rajasthan Royals team that lifted the first IPL trophy in 2008.
