New Delhi, Oct 25: West Bengal chief minister Mamata Bannerji is one feisty and popular politician who never shies away from speaking her mind in public. And it is an open secret that she has been very vocal about the BJP government at the center and its policies. So when Department of Telecom (DoT) had called for linking of mobile numbers with Aadhaar on March 23, she was one of the first voices to resent this. Today while addressing her party workers and leaders at Nazrul Manch in Kolkata, she clearly announced, "TMC will observe 8th November as 'Black Day' and conduct rallies throughout the state carrying black flags," adding "I will not link Aadhaar with phone, if they want to disconnect my phone, let them.
“I will not connect Aadhaar with my mobile at any cost. Let my mobile connection be discontinued,” said an upset and aggressive looking Mamata. “I will also ask more and more people to protest in the same way. This linking of Aadhar with mobile is an attack on personal privacy. Even person conversation between a husband and a wife will be public then. There are certain personal matters which cannot be made public,” she said.
