WWE legend 'Chyna' passes away at 46

New Delhi/Los Angeles: Former WWE wrestler and actor Joanie Laurer, better known as "Chyna", passed away at the age of 46 on Thursday.

As per reports, one of her friends went to see her today, however, found her unresponsive in the bedroom of her Redondo Beach apartment in Los Angeles.

Police denied any signs of foul play, informing they are investigating a case of possible overdose, due to her history with drugs.

Meanwhile, Chyna's official Twitter account confirmed the death, stating, "It is with deep sadness to inform you today that we lost a true icon, a real life superhero...She will live forever in the memories of her millions of fans and all of us that loved her."

WWE extended its condolences to Laurer's family, friends and fans.

"I just heard the tragic news that @ChynaJoanLaurer has passed. She was truly a pioneer in our industry, and she will be missed. #RIPChyna," tweeted WWE Chief Brand Officer Stephanie McMahon.

Dubbed as "The Ninth Wonder of the World", "Chyna" was the founding member of the groundbreaking faction D-Generation X, which also had Shawn Michaels, "Triple H" and Rick Rude as its members.

RIP Chyna.
