Gurgaon: Yoga guru Baba Ramdev on Tuesday promised more than just investment in his home state Haryana.
Speaking at the 'Happening Haryana' investor meet, which is being held only a fortnight after violent quota dissents by Jats, Ramdev offered to deliver motivational speeches to employees in big industries and hold yoga classes to cure the "ailment" of challenges and strikes in industrial units.
"Industries pay huge fees for getting people to deliver motivation speech. I will do it for free for your employees. Obviously, it may not be possible for me to come to every unit. But I can address people in big units. Mein hartal aadi ki bimaari ko bhi theek kar doonga," the Times of India reported.
The Patanjali Yogpeeth owner has suggested simliar 'cures' in the past too.
His views on homosexuality became ground for controversies when the Delhi High Court gave a verdict on decriminalising homosexuality. "This verdict of the court will encourage criminality and sick mentality. This is breaking the family system in India. Homosexuality is not natural and can be treated. If the government brings this law, I will take this matter to the streets of Delhi in protest," he had said.
Speaking on AIDS and sex-education, Ramdev had said that, "Sex education in schools need to be replaced by yoga education".
As a result of these open explanations he was sent a cease and halt order by the Indian Union Health Ministry to abstain from making such cases later on, and the common society undermined lawful action. Later,Ramdev changed his statement, saying that the words were not straightforwardly his but rather those of patients who practiced yoga.
The Yoga guru also claimed that he could improve the conditions of patients suffering with AIDS through Yoga.
