Lucknow, Oct 30: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has stoked another controversy in his efforts to reform the Madarsa education. The Yogi government has now decided to introduce NCERT books in the UP Madarsas. Earlier, Yogi had made online registration compulsory for state Madarsas.
“Madarasa board is planning to implement NCERT syllabus in Madarsas," tweeted UP Deputy Chief Minister Dinesh Sharma. From now on Maths and Science will be compuslory subjects at the higher level in all state Madarsas. The latest move by the UP government will affect 16,000 Madarsas in the state.
To revamp the curriculum in madrassas, the Yogi government has constituted a 40-member committee. to revamp the curriculum in madrassas. The panel includes onmember from NCERT, one from Aligarh Muslim University and one from Lucknow University. The committee will also include members from Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti Urdu, Arabi-Farsi University.
