New Delhi, Oct 2: For UP CM Yogi Adityanath, Taj Mahal- one of the Seven modern Wonders of the World- is not a tourist destination. The marble wonder does not find a place in Uttar Pradesh government's booklet aimed to promote tourist spots in the state. With Ganga Aarti as cover image, the 32-page booklet mentions many non-descript places but ignores Taj Mahal.
However, State Tourism Minister Rita Bahuguna said that Taj Mahal remains government's top priority. "Taj Mahal is our cultural heritage and pritority," minister was quoted as saying by ANI.
Interestingly, Gorakhnath Temple, of which Yogi is the main priest, finds a place in the booklet. Last year, Yogi had stoked a controversy by saying that the 17th century monument to love built by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan is not part of Indian culture.
